Being Texan is, as they say, a thing. Being an Austinite is another, separate thing.
Like in families everywhere, those "things" don't always get along.
Having lived in many other parts of the country, I can appreciate that Texas and Austin have such strong and clashing senses of identity. Being from those places means something.
Texas keeps its promises about things being bigger here. Bigger space, for one. There's just room.
Austin keeps its promises about filling that room with music.
